SOUTHWEST ACEH

The capital of Aceh Barat Daya is Blang Pidie. Previously under South Aceh, it is one of the newly established regions. This region has various possibilities for tourist attractions but as yet these have not been fully developed and documented. The regional government plans to develop the tourism sector over the coming years. If you travel to this region, please contact the Tourist Information Office in Blang Pidie and they will be able to assist you.

Pantai Ujung Serangga

This beautiful beach is very long, similar to that of Pulau Kayu. It is only 3 km from Blang Pidie and is easily reached by car or public transport. It has a lovely view and is a good place to swim or sunbathe.

Ie Dikila Park

About 4 km from the town centre there is a large nature park with a view on the mountains behind. This park has a beautiful, stream running through it and the water is very clear. A lot of different bird varieties and wild monkeys can be seen here. There a few restaurants and coffee shops there serving light snacks and drinks. Several bungalows are in the process of being constructed.
